2012 Garden To Do List
1) Start and grow plants from seed in the greenhouse.
2) Try plant propagation in the greenhouse.
3) Remove the tree stump from the backyard.

Great shot! I never have my camera handy when they come in for a landing!
ReplyDelete@Laura, I quickly grabed my camera and took a few shoots thinking that it would fly away any moment. I was quite suppried at how long the dragonfly stuck around, I quess it was enjoying that little bit of much needed sunshine. I was able to snap around it for 20 minutes, even taping it a few times as I went in for some close up shots and the wind whipping the branch around. I finally had to pull myself away to do other things.

ReplyDeleteHeather, I was once floating on an inner tube down the Slocan River in Kootenay country (with a television cameraman shooting the scenery) when a dragonfly actually alighted on the tip of my big toe. Talk about perfect timing! Sometimes nature gives us very large gifts.
@Dave, That must have been a sight. Sometimes I find little critters so fascinating, just the other day I was captivated by a rather large bee buzzing about the Rhododendron flowers. You could see it plunging into the deepest part of the flower, searching for the sweet nectar.
